Managed Markets can now set your international shipping rates for each destination. Standard and Express rates are handled for you. Part of the shipping cost is built into your product prices, and the rest is charged as shipping at checkout. You can also choose to absorb a portion of the cost to make buyer prices lower.

What this means for your store

  • Simpler checkout. Buyers see a shipping rate set through Managed Markets instead of one you configured yourself.
  • Protected label costs. Qualifying prepaid FedEx or DHL Express labels bought through Managed Markets are not billed for later carrier cost adjustments.
  • Less control. You cannot edit these rates yourself. You can turn the feature off per market to use your own rates, but then the label-cost guarantee no longer applies.

You can preview international product prices, checkout totals and expected payouts for each market before you turn it on.

What to do this week

If you sell internationally through Managed Markets, open Markets, choose a market and find the Managed Markets section. Preview the prices, checkout totals and payouts, and compare them with your current shipping rates. Duty-inclusive pricing is required for this feature, so check that it is already on. If you do not sell internationally, there is nothing to do yet.
