Shopify's Knowledge Base moves into your admin, the standalone app ends January 15, 2027

Facts AI agents use about your store now live in your Shopify admin. If you had more than 1,000 facts in the old app, add the ones you want to keep before January 15, 2027.

Shopify has built Knowledge base into your admin at Sales channels > Agentic > Knowledge base. It replaces the standalone Knowledge Base app, which will no longer be available after January 15, 2027.

Knowledge base is a single page where you review, edit and publish the facts AI agents get about your store, such as contact details and gift services. Shopify drafts these facts from your published storefront pages, and each one links back to the page it came from. Nothing Shopify drafts reaches AI agents until you publish it.

What to do this week

  • If you used the old app with fewer than 1,000 facts, nothing is needed. Your facts moved over and were published, so AI agents can keep using them. You can unpublish any fact at any time.
  • If you used the old app with more than 1,000 facts, check your list now. Knowledge base holds up to 1,000 facts, and facts beyond that did not move over. Shopify has emailed these stores directly. Add the facts you want to keep before January 15, 2027.
  • If you did not use the app, no action is required. Review the drafted facts in the new page and publish only the ones you want AI agents to use.
